Two Horses

Robert F. Murray calls his paintings "Waterexpressions." They are water-based, mainly watercolor, with a lyrical use of line, and a soft-colored palette. The subject matter varies, but there are mainly florals, animals, figures and some abstractions.

Murray started painting seriously in 1997 after 20+ years in the gallery world of promoting and doing expositions of many fine artists, particularly contemporary Russian-born artists.

He attended the Corcoran School of Art in the 1960s and has had extensive course work through the Art League School of Art. Several of the Russian-schooled artists he has represented have also contributed to Murray's painting style and content.

Murray holds a B.L.S. and M.L.S. from Georgetown
UniversityAlphabet Horse and a Doctorate from Gonzaga College. He lives
in the Mount Vernon area of Alexandria and directs the business and open studio shows of The von Brahler Ltd./Gallery, which he began in 1983. He was the Featured Artist for November and December 2004 at Art & Framing by Valentino.
